Why 88% of Women Are Struggling / What TikTok Got Right About Fiber / Hannah Brown’s Double Uterus Story, Explained

Plus, “My Husband Hates My Low Sex Drive”

Hi friend,

78% of women say their mental health is suffering because of physical challenges.

I’m not surprised — I’m one of them.

Infertility, bed rest, postpartum anxiety, pregnancy after loss… each chapter of my reproductive journey has left a mark on my mental health. (This photo is from just after my miscarriage — a moment when the weight of it all felt impossible to carry.)

When you layer on chronic conditions like PCOS and Hashimoto’s, it’s easy to feel like your body is working against you, and your mind takes on that heaviness, too.

As women, we go through so much physically. From our first period to postpartum recovery, from navigating birth control to the rollercoaster of perimenopause, our bodies are constantly changing. But no one really talks about how all of that impacts our mental health. At least, not enough.

That’s why I’m so proud of the work we’re doing at Rescripted. Our latest report with BetterHelp dives into the powerful (and too often overlooked) connection between women’s physical and mental health. Real stories, expert insight, and data that says loud and clear: this matters.

Here’s what really stayed with me:

88% (!) say their overall health would improve if they had easy and affordable access to mental health care.

That’s not just a number. It’s a call to action.

If any of this resonates with you, I encourage you to download the full report — and forward it to someone who needs to hear: you’re not imagining it, and you’re not alone. 💜

xoxo,
Kristyn

Fiber Over Protein? Social Media Might Be Onto Something 🥦

As women, we’ve been told again and again: eat more protein. It keeps you full, builds lean muscle, supports hormones — and yes, there’s truth to that. So we blend the smoothies, boil the eggs, and buy cottage cheese like it’s going out of style.

But lately, a viral message on social has been flipping that script: “Young people aren’t dying of protein deficiency — they’re dying of colon cancer.” 👀

The point? We might be so focused on protein that we’re overlooking something just as essential: fiber.

Fiber plays a huge role in gut health, hormone regulation, blood sugar balance, and digestion, and most women aren’t even coming close to the daily recommended intake. It’s not as flashy as protein, but it might be just as important (if not more) for long-term health.

So maybe it’s time to stop obsessing over grams of protein and start asking: am I getting enough fiber?

Hannah Brown, a Double Uterus, and What It Means for Women’s Health

When Bachelorette alum Hannah Brown shared that she has a double uterus — a rare condition known as uterine didelphys — she helped shine a light on something most people have never heard of.

According to Dr. Jessica Ryniec, around 5 to 8 percent of women have some form of congenital uterine abnormality, and it’s more common among those with a history of recurrent pregnancy loss. Of these anomalies, a bicornuate uterus is the most common (about 30%), while didelphys like Hannah’s accounts for roughly 10%.

Often undiagnosed until pregnancy, a double uterus can increase the risk of miscarriage, preterm birth, and complications — though some experience no symptoms at all.

Brown’s story is a powerful reminder of how much we don’t get told about our reproductive health, and why these conversations matter.
