Can You Have PCOS With Regular Periods? 🤔 / Fibroids vs. Cysts, Baby Bonuses & the Yoga Pill?

Plus, 6 Lessons for National Infertility Awareness Week

Hi friend!

It’s National Infertility Awareness Week, and if you’re navigating this path right now — or have in the past — I just want to say: I see you.

Infertility cracks you open. And slowly, painfully, it reshapes you — mentally, physically, emotionally. Looking back, these are the lessons that still stick with me the most:

  • It’s not just about your reproductive system. It impacts every part of your life — your body, mind, relationships, career, and sense of self.

  • You can’t hustle your way through it. Trust me, I tried. But infertility doesn’t reward effort — it humbles it.

  • You have to be your own biggest advocate. Ask the hard questions. Get a second opinion. Speak up when something feels off.

  • Two things can be true at once. You can feel hope and heartbreak, joy and grief — all at once. It’s messy, but it’s real.

  • Taking a break — or walking away — is not giving up. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is pause.

  • It changes you. For better, for worse — or both. But you won’t come out the same. And that’s okay.

If you're in it right now, I'm sending you so much love. It’s one of the hardest things you'll ever face — but you’re not alone in how deeply it changes you.

PCOS with regular periods? Yep, it’s possible.

If you’ve ever wondered how you could possibly have PCOS when your cycle seems pretty regular — you’re not imagining things. Despite what we’ve been told, having consistent periods doesn’t rule it out.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a complex hormonal condition, and not everyone checks the same boxes. Some people have irregular cycles. Others don’t. Some have visible cysts. Others never do.

Bottom line: PCOS looks different for everyone — and getting the right diagnosis means looking at the full picture, not just your period tracker.

$5,000 to have a baby? Cool. What about affordable childcare and paid leave?

A proposed “baby bonus” from the U.S. government is making headlines — offering new parents $5,000 as an incentive to grow their families. Sounds helpful, right?

Sure. But let’s be real: That one-time check doesn’t even begin to cover the cost of childcare, let alone the long-term lack of paid parental leave or access to reproductive care.

We love support for families. But what we really need? Structural change that doesn’t put the burden (and the bill) on parents alone.

🍼 Here’s what you need to know about the baby bonus — and what’s still missing.

Lastly, I think about my friend Lisa every day, but especially when I get my annual mammogram — like today. She passed away from breast cancer at just 31, and after losing her, I asked my doctor for genetic screening. That’s how I found out I carry the ATM gene mutation, which increases my risk.

Early detection saves lives. If you’re due for a mammogram, consider this your reminder. And if you're curious about your risk, talk to your doctor about genetic screening. It could make all the difference. 🫶
