Plus, When to Worry About Period Blood Smell

Hi friend!
Let’s talk about time — and the pressure women feel to race against it.
Whether it's a well-meaning aunt dropping “don’t wait too long” over brunch, or the panic scroll at 2 a.m. after yet another engagement announcement, fertility can start feeling like a ticking clock you didn’t even set.
But here’s the thing: You don’t have to have it all figured out in your 20s — and freezing your eggs doesn’t mean you're committing to a certain path. It means giving yourself options (and peace of mind) while you live your best life.
On the flip side, there’s also a lot of noise about IVF in your 40s. Is it “too late”? Is it selfish? Is it impossible? Nope, nope, and definitely nope — but it’s also not as simple as some celeb headlines would have you believe.
We’re cutting through the B.S. and giving you the honest truth about fertility at every age — because your timeline is yours to own.

Period Blood Smell: The Good, The Bad, and The Funky 🩸
There’s a moment — maybe standing up too fast, changing a pad, or just going about your day — when you catch a whiff of something… earthy? Metallic? A little funky?
And suddenly your brain does a double take: Wait, is that me?!
Here’s the thing: you’re not gross. You’re not alone. And you’re not broken.
Period blood has a smell. That’s totally normal. Most of the time, it’s nothing to stress about. But if you’ve ever wondered why it smells the way it does, what’s actually “normal,” and when it might be time to check in with a doctor — we’ve got you covered.

The TWW: Is It Implantation Bleeding or Your Period? 🤯
Waiting to find out if you’re pregnant can feel like the longest two weeks of your life. Every twinge, every wipe, every strange dream has you overanalyzing. So when you notice a bit of blood in your underwear, it’s easy for your mind to race: Is it implantation bleeding? Is my period early? What’s going on?
Here’s what you need to know: implantation bleeding is usually light — pink or brown — and happens about a week before your period is due, typically 6–12 days after ovulation. It tends to be short and doesn’t get heavier or come with clots. It’s basically a much lighter, less intense version of your normal flow.
That said, not everyone experiences implantation bleeding, and spotting isn’t always a sign of something significant. If your period arrives on time or the bleeding increases, it’s likely just your period starting.
Still, during the two-week wait, even the smallest change can feel huge. Understanding what’s typical can bring a little calm — and maybe stop you from spiraling down the Google rabbit hole again.
