Why IVF Fails Even with “Perfect” Embryos / 1 in 5 Told to Drink Alcohol for Pelvic Pain / The Health Benefits of Friendship ✨

Plus, Great News for People Who Hate Getting Pap Smears!

Hey there,

In a culture that worships productivity, it’s no surprise that friendship often gets pushed to the sidelines. We make time for work, workouts, and wellness routines — but not always for the people who make life feel meaningful.

And yet, friendship is a form of self-care. It’s been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce depression, and even extend lifespan. According to research, lacking close social ties can be more harmful to your health than smoking 20 cigarettes a day!

So, why don’t we treat friendship like the health essential it is?

It doesn’t have to be a three-hour dinner or a group chat that never dies. It can be as small as a check-in voice memo or a walk between meetings. What matters is that we stop treating connection like a luxury — and start seeing it as the life-giving, health-boosting force it is.

Women Are Being Gaslit Over Pelvic Pain, and Now There’s Proof 🩸

A new study in JAMA Network Open asked 447 women with pelvic pain or pressure about their experiences with doctors — and the results are disturbing (albeit unsurprising):

🧑‍⚕️ The average patient had seen over 5 different providers
🙅🏽‍♀️ Only 44% of those providers were described as supportive
🧠 1 in 5 were referred to psychiatry instead of getting medical treatment
🍷 1 in 5 were told to “try drinking alcohol”
🫠 And nearly 40% said they were made to feel crazy — the single most distressing experience reported

Even more: Over half said they considered giving up on medical care altogether.

Dismissive, belittling, and unsafe care is still far too common in women’s health — especially when it comes to pain. These aren't outliers. These are patterns.

🧬 Why IVF sometimes fails (even with “perfect” embryos)
When embryos look ideal in the lab, a failed cycle can feel inexplicable. But appearance doesn’t always predict outcome — and embryo quality is just one part of a very complex equation.
